Live Satellite NEW
The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) is the most famous live satellite space telescope and it was carried into orbit by the space shuttle in April 1990. STS-125 (Atlantis) was launched in May 2009, and installed two live satellite new instruments and made numerous repairs. The latest servicing should allow the telescope to function until at least 2014. Check out this map of earth from space view of the live satellite moving on course.
This is a large, space-based live satellite observatory which has revolutionized astronomy by providing unprecedented deep and clear aerial views of the Universe, ranging from our own solar system to extremely remote fledgling galaxies forming not long after the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago. Amazing! It reminds me of the $60 million Google Earth Maps invested in future Google Satellites to provide internet from space. The future is upon us and it starts with live satellites.
