China Launches Olympic Satellite
In Bejing earlier this week, China has launched a second satellite in recent months. These satellites are being launched to better forecast the weather for the Summer 2008 Bejing Olympics. Obviously weather will be a factor in the Summer with the heat and outdoor activities. I expect the United States to dominate in usual Olympic fashion.
To read more about the satellite launch check out the Herald Tribune. The Fengyun-3 satellite was launched on a Long March-4C rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern Shanxi province, the China Meteorological Administration said. China is worried that rain in August could be a damp rain dumping month in Beijing; it might ruin the opening night of the Olympics on August 8th.
The Olympics is airs on NBC and you can all follow the competitions via the schedule of events.
